The Honorable Deliberative Council of Florencio Varela approved the Municipal General Budget 2026, amounting to 159,582 million pesos, during the 15th session of the body. The project was presented and justified by councilor for Unión por la Patria Sandra Jiménez, former deputy secretary of Government of the administration headed by Mayor Andrés Watson. According to the Argentine News Agency, in her presentation, Jiménez stated that the budget is a "planning tool that guides the course of municipal management," and emphasized that the text sets priorities in basic services, social policies, urban maintenance, and works, in an economic context marked by the decrease in national transfers. The ruling party stressed that the scheme will allow maintaining programs in popular neighborhoods, reinforcing primary health care, and continuing interventions in public space. The ordinance was approved on the same day it was presented, in accordance with the deadlines and procedures of provincial regulations. From the Executive, they highlighted that having the sanctioned budget before the end of the year provides predictability for the execution of the 2026 government plan and sends a signal of continuity to suppliers, cooperatives, and social organizations that depend on the programming of municipal works and programs.
